Instructors Jasmin and Jeri will help participants learn about providing infant and child care, staying safe, handling emergencies, choosing age-appropriate activities, recognizing and handling a variety of behaviors, preparing a meal and snacks, and working with parents of children you babysit to become better babysitters.
Classes will be held in the morning on Tuesday, June 2nd, Wednesday, June 3rd and Thursday, June 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. On Wednesday June 3rd students will learn the basic first aid and infant/child CPR from Nurse Julie Dahlman. On Thursday, June 4th students will spend time cooking and preparing snacks.
Students will receive a Babysitter’s Kit that includes the training materials and pocket first aid kit.
This will be open to 5th and 6th graders - 6th grade will get priority and if spots are available after then we will add 5th grade by the order we get them.
