Attention Basketball Parents:
Basketball Parents:
Thank you for entrusting the safety and development of your child with our coaches. At all times our coaches will strive to make this season a positive experience while also a safe one. Covid is everyone’s primary concern, and we all know that it only takes one athlete to shut down a program for a couple of weeks. This is why we are asking that you please remember the team when your child heads out the door each day. If your child is showing any of the symptoms of Covid, please keep them at home and if at all possible have your child tested. Our coaches will do a daily temperature check and covid screening of all athletes, and could ask your child not to participate on any given night, please be understanding.
With a lack of gym space, our regular practice and game schedules will have to be altered. Our coaches are working right now to come up with a schedule that works for all our teams. As to the game schedule, we have not received guidance from the MSHSL at this time, so we will not release a game schedule until we can be certain we are within the state’s rules. Expect the Junior High and the High School to be separated on game nights, with one home and the other away. Also, with the shortened season, we may have more instances of girls and boys playing on the same night.
We are happy to announce that the pixellot camera system is up and working in both high school gyms. All Northern Freeze fans will be able to register to see all home games at no expense this year. If other schools have the pixellot system, you will be able to view our teams playing at their gym for a small fee.
We expect home games will be open for 2 parents of each athlete to attend. We can not say what other schools will allow for away games. There will be a list of rules that you must agree to when pre-registering to attend home games. For the sake of our teams, please adhere to those rules.
If you are attending a game and plan on taking your child home with you, please contact your child’s coach directly at least 24 hours prior to the game to inform them. Our student-athletes will only be allowed to ride with their parents. Also please make sure our coaches have your contact information in case any changes to the schedules occur.
Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility this year.
Respectfully,
Gary Taylor Brian Longerbone
AD Tri-County AD Marshall County Central
