On September 17th, Mrs. Peterson’s Outdoor Sports class and Mr. Dahl’s Health, Wellness, and Nutrition class headed to the Karlstad Golf Course to enjoy the beautiful fall day and got some hand on experience today! Mock Crash Exercise at MCC High School
Today, area emergency personnel worked together to stage a mock crash scene for MCC students in grades 9–12. The scene simulated a DUI collision between a pickup and a four-door sedan.
Emergency responders used the live exercise to demonstrate the real-life impact of poor decisions. Following the event, they spoke with students about the dangers of drunk driving and encouraged them to consider careers in emergency response.
A special thank you to Tri-County EMS, Newfolden Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and Minnesota State Patrol for leading this powerful learning experience. We also thank MCC Social Worker Laura Underdahl for helping coordinate the event and preparing the student volunteers who took part.
