
The MCC chamber choir was recently invited to be featured in the annual “Women in Song” concert at UND. This concert features all women groups singing songs by women composers. As part of this invitation, the choir took a day trip to UND to work with professors and rehearse with collegiate ensembles. The Women in Song concert will be Feb. 26th at 7:30 pm in the Josephine Campbell Recital Hall in the Hughes Fine Arts Center.


Monday, 2/26 there will be a presentation from 5:30p-5:45p for parents and students on College in the High School offerings and online college courses. The location for this event is the east side of the library.
Monday, 2/26 there will be a mandatory student-parent meeting from 5:45p-6:15p for prospective PSEO students. The location for this event is the east side of the library.


Pasta Supper Fundraiser will be happening before the Northern Freeze Boys Basketball Game in Stephen on Thursday, February 15th.

MCC would like to Congratulate sophomore Jaiden Timm for being selected for the High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Jaiden had to audition for the Honors Performance Series and was selected after review by the selection board. Jaiden will join performers from around the world for a special performance which will take place on February 10th. "Being selected to the Honors Performance Series is something each finalist should be proud of accomplishing," said Marian Gomez, music director for the series. Jaiden was selected from nearly 10,000 nominations around the world. He will have the opportunity to work with world-renowned conductors and other high achieving performers. Congratulations Jaiden, MCC is proud of you!


Seniors Kaydence Augustine and Nick Longerbone represented MCC at the Region 8 AAA Banquet today in Mahnomen. We are thrilled to share Kaydence won as top female representative for our sub-section and Section 8. She will compete for the state AAA representative award later this spring!! Congratulations Nick & Congratulations and Good Luck to Kaydence!

Game change for Boys Basketball tonight (2/6/24). Due to illness and not enough players for Heritage - we will be having an 8th and 9th grade intersquad scrimmage at 4:45 in the big gym at Karlstad tonight. 7th grade boys will still play Roseau at 4:45 in the small gym, JV will start at 6:00 pm and Varsity to follow.


Brenna Olson, NW Regional Suicide Prevention Coordinator/Polk County Public Health will be conducting a presentation to our 7-12 grade students Thursday, February 8. The presentation will discuss mental health and suicide. We understand this is a sensitive topic and will have staff on hand to support students. A key in helping with mental health and suicide prevent is raising awareness and sharing supports available to students. Staff have access to suicide prevention resources and training to help them recognize warning signs, have appropriate conversations surrounding this topic, and how to connect to appropriate supports if needed.


There will be a Mandatory Close-Up meeting on Wednesday, February 28th from 5:30-6:30 pm in the High School Library - Students and at least One Parent must be present.
