agenda
Dear Families, I would like to take a moment to follow up on a communication I sent to you yesterday evening regarding an alleged threat made by one of our elementary school students. The threat was first reported to local law enforcement for investigation. Due to our legal obligation to maintain student confidentiality, we cannot share further details at this time. What I can share is that our schools are safe. I have spoken with the county sheriff this morning and he noted there is no credible threat to our students at this time. School has resumed as usual today. Out of an abundance of caution, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office will have an increased presence at our elementary school today. I also want to take this opportunity to remind all students of the serious nature of making threats to school safety. We take all potential threats very seriously. If you see or hear anything that could present a safety threat, notify a teacher, staff member, or another trusted adult right away. Thank you for your attention to this update. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Jeffrey Lund Superintendent/Elementary Principal

MCC Alert: There was a complaint made to law enforcement this evening about an alleged threat made between students at school today. We take all reports and complaints seriously and are cooperating with the law enforcement investigation. We are not allowed to disclose specifics about the incident due to data privacy. We will work with law enforcement as they complete their investigation. The County Sheriff assured me it is safe to send students to school Thursday. To help piece of mind, we've asked for law enforcement presence and the sheriff told me they will have a deputy on site at the schools in the morning who will check in throughout the day. I apologize for the late timing of this message but wanted to take the time to assure you that it is safe to send students to school on Thursday. Safety of our students and staff are of the highest priority. Thank you, Superintendent Lund

Lunch Balance Alerts - FYI: Our automated texting for low balances is not working and may be down for a while. If you would like to get an e-mail alert, you can set this up yourself by logging into your Schoolpay.com account and click Food Services (left menu). On each child, click AutoPay/Notifications Toggle and turn on. Click on Details. Enter amount you want to trigger notification (we suggest $5.00) and click Save. You do not need to click on autopayment. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are working to see if we can fix the automatic alerts.

MCC Announcement (3-17-2023): School is scheduled on time but we are sending a message to our families asking for patience with bussing. Some township roads are difficult to travel down especially in the southwest and northeast portions of our district's routes. Drivers have been instructed to take their time and radio in if they cannot pass down a road. We will call if they cannot travel down your road and will see what we can do to meet you. Thank you and safe travels this morning.
